Welcome Licorice Pizza (LP) lovers! Setup guides and Vinyl FAQ.

This product valid, despite visual links to stupid Japanese vertical players.

thanks for the link, I found exploring this device very interesting in that , far from being just a novelty for the style enslaved, it deals with the problems of record playback by employing basic solutions in unusual ways.

One thing about the dutch, they may be unconventional, but they are never silly when on task.

beyond the somewhat, for me, off-putting "just buy one" presentation of the link, which seems a pitch to the more money than brains club, with a little hunting I was able to investigate the details of the product, and it is very different than what one might consider a close and play deal for the sonically ignorant.

Turns out the vertical orientation allows it to track warps and off center records more easily, it uses electronically controlled linear tracking that identifies the surface, than controls the cartridge, a stripped down Audio technica,, via electronically controlled interface with the understood record surface, insted of just putting the cartridge in the groove and let 'er rip.

I Like that it uses a magnetic bearing, plus if you set it down, it also uses magnetic feet to float the device.

Far from pissing me off, as it was just about to do to the poster who thankfully provided the link, I enjoyed the innovation applied to a lot of basic playback problems, while making no secret that one of the goals was a unique design. Which makes a certain sense, if you are entering a very crowded market with a lot of me too designs , all claiming to be better than the next guy.

It's far from the , this table could be made functional a hundred years from now, stuff that I favor, it's more computer oriented than that , and has a lot of unique touches. The built in phono stage might not appeal to those who already have a system that incorporates vinyl playback, but the fact that the phono stage is incorporated into the cartridge carrier , without leads to degrade the signal , is certainly interesting.

although the upside down orientation is startling, it does offer complete control of playback, although it uses an electronic eye instead of yours. And playing the record in a sealed dust free environment is something I have read a lot of guys wishing for.

I would suppose it sounds about as good as most players at it's price point, if I had to guess, since it comes ready to play, cartridge included. I admit that is nothing more than a wild guess, but I developed a great respect for the dutch back when I was a sailor and traveled there often.
