Deflex is good material for some applications. I find it soooo soft and gooey it might be able to rob some of the dynamics from the circuit. I used to be a damping fan... there was no surface that couldn't be damped enough. Slowly I backed off that position as it became apparant that judicious damping and careful tuning would yield more satisying results... after long conversations with the people at Sistrum/Star Sound technologies did it become clear that too much damping could remove significant energy from a system... they have a story about a client who tried to control motor noise with damping polymers and suddenly his elecrical usage skyrocketed.Dynamat X-treme is great stuff (just don't confuse it with the regular Dynamat... two waay different animals)... a good idea instead of ruthlessly covering every square inch is to lightly tap around and listen for "loud nodes" and put a 2"x2" squate of Dynamat there... this varies greatly depending on the level of the case... a good pattern is one between each footer on the bottom of the case and one dead center of the case...
Maybe a good fix would be a sheet of X-treme about the size of the toroid on the uderside of the case and a light pad under the toroid itself... an industrial felt might be interesting.
