Your descriptions are slightly incorrect.A toriod is a coil design which by design constrains the flux in a tubular, donut shaped volume. The inclusion of magnetic material within that volume will alter how much of that field strays from the internal volume.
Your description of "air core toroid" is actually called a solenoid. Otherwise, your text is very accurate.
