This is in experimental phase. My last two amplifiers have had their transformer fastened to the bottom of the case with a heavy steel bolt, nut, and washer combination. Being ferromagnetic, how much stray magnetic energy is being resonanted by this bolt, and then how much of that is conducted into the case itself ? Non magnetic replacement bolts,etc are available in stainless steel, bronze, and in some instances, titanium. It is also true that as a sonic material, steel sounds pretty nasty and other metals have a better natural sound. Why not repace the steel bolt with non magnetic and affect several parameters at once, magnetic and acoustic/ I was also curious if the short length of steel in the center of the tranny could act as a RF antenna ???
