Re: This kind of broad generalization reveals the lack of merit of GEO's comment

I have heard the Cary 300B monos, the Cary 805C, the V12, the six packs, the 572 and one other. Usually soft on the bottom and over done in the mid range. Nice sounding on vocals. Could be set-up / could be the amps. I have heard enough of them to form the OPINION that they are not that great. Not garbage, which was a poor choice of words, but not great. In my opinion. Jack was also referring to the Prima and the Erato, which certainly has a different sonic signature than the Sira. Not to say that you won't encounter with the Sira the issue Jack encountered. Also, not to say that you won't encounter that issue with any preamp. Why would I be angry about Cary equipment? I never had a personal problem with the equipment or the company.
