either or both of those speakers makes me wonder if they ever actually heard either or both. and both require some setup with space required for both.
i would not hesitate to buy either but might want s sub for the ML. i heard the aerius more than adequately demoed with a 40wpc nad integrated. the vandys really like tubes (at least 60wpc) but can do with a decent ss amp.
maggies are a good thought, i have MMGs and a hsu sub AND i alternate them with my spendor s3/5s. quite different eh?
direct radiators (cone/domes) may be better if you need more usable floor space but they still need a couple of feet behind and to the side as well to sound their best.
your significant other should be willing to sacrifice a bit to keep you at home.
