Do the Fresh Sounds and the Essential jazz Classics disclose how they managed to get a hold of the original master tapes for transfers, how, where and who did their transfers, etc? The 24-bit sticker is nothing more than clever marketing, imho. In the very early 2000s, when the remastering epidemic began, I often went for the 24-bit hype stickers (before that it was 20-bit). I now trust my ears, regardless of what the obi or the stickers say.
