Unanswered questions regarding 47 Labs Gaincard ..

66.20.72.183

I've read with great interest much of the archived posts over the past year concerning the Gaincard but still have a couple of unanswered question in my mind. So for you Gaincard owners (and detractors) out there:
1. Many "tube lovers" have mentioned that the Gaincard is as close to tubes as an SS will get; does this mean that as far as speaker matching goes, I should treat a Gaincard like I i'm treating a tube amp when choosing from a list of speakers to audition? so the Gaincard is more "warm" than "cool"?
2. As to the subjective musicality of the amp, all the posts I've read has merely debated extraneous qualities of the amp, but I have yet to hear anyone share a weakness or criticized it on the grounds of sound quality. For example, take a Super-Cool-Tube-Amp: no matter how good it may be, there will always be someone who comes out and says "well, it's too warm and colored for my tastes". But with the Gaincard, the worst some people have said are "it's too expensive for something so simple" or "the speaker connections are too inconvenient" or "the low power requires careful speaker matching"... are those quibbles the worst of it??

Thanks for your input!
