Hi P. Hanley,A "Y cable" does not involve a single run of cable. It involves two runs of cable joined to a single connector at either the source or load end. A single run of cable would imply a mono cable, no matter how one slices it :-)
Sorry if I seem obtuse (maybe I'm too dense to understand what you are meaning) :-D
