Everything you do changes the sound. If you changed the Furutech connectors on the Mola Mola amps to silver WBTs you would have a different sound. This is the truth....if you care to hear it. So, which one is more "perfect". The NC400 does not sound as good as the slightly less good measuring NC1200....according to ALL who have A/Bed. The Mola Mola version of the NC1200 sounds better than the stock NC1200 according to everyone who has A/Bed.....which one is perfect? There is a guy on Whats Best Forum who has the Mola Mola amps and he says they are not best at doing everything but overall likes them better than the other amps he has heard.......again, he said they were not the best in certain ways....and he has not heard most of the high end contenders. The two articles you referenced show no reason why they are perfect. The "review" was very lame and there was no A/Bs with any of the other 50-100 great sounding amps. Srajens comments were just that.....he has not heard them.
Here is a way to test an amp so see how linear it "might" be: Do a straight wire bypass test with it. Put an amp between a preamp and amp and turn down the preamp for the extra gain of the DUT and listen. If an amp cannot drive the high impedance of the input of an amp without having a sound then how could it do it with a 4-8 ohm load? How come nobody does this test? My friend Sieg Modes did this in the 1970s. His wide band solid state amp did better on this test than any amp at that time.
Every brand of solder, wire, resistor, capacitor, shielding, damping, power supply parts, etc. etc. etc. changes the sound. This I know from over 35 years of listening tests. Just changing the output filter caps on the NC400 to modified Wimas improves the sound according to everyone who has tried it......perfect amp? Don't think so.
