"However, I find it incredible that me advocating proper and courteous conduct can be seen as being ‘on my high-horse’".
You called the guy a prick because he wanted to leave negative feedback without receiving it himself as a 'punishment', a situation I've often found myself in.Negative feedback acts as a warning for other buyers, and perhaps the buyers who don't leave negative feedback are letting others down?
Maybe they're the pricks because they'd rather protect their own feedback than warn other buyers?
If you believe it's 'proper and courteous' to call someone a prick then there's not much more I can add, except to say that in the interests of courtesy I'll just say I can see your point of view, respect it but disagree with a passion. :0)

...... Hi Chris
You say \\\ You called the guy a prick because he wanted to leave negative feedback without receiving it himself as a 'punishment', a situation I've often found myself in.///
Chris, I didn’t call anyone a prick! I asked a question. Backbeat1954A@aol.com has yet to respond to clarify his position.
You say \\\ If you believe it's 'proper and courteous' to call someone a prick then there's not much more I can add/// ……… read my post. I didn’t call the guy a prick. My point about ‘proper and courteous’ conduct was about what seemed to be a deliberate and devious attempt by “Backbeat” to get “one-up” on some person on ebay. IMHO that sort of behavior is childish at best.
We will obviously not agree on this Chris but I am surprised you seem to be condoning the sort of behavior suggested by people in this thread. You obviously seem to think it is fine. That’s fine, I do not.
Chris you might be surprised to know I think you and me might agree more about issues on ebay than you think. Just not agree on the issue of this thread.
You enjoy your Sunday as well. Mine is all but over and @ 1120pm I am heading to the land of nod.

"Why on earth would you want to do this if for no other reason than to be a complete and utter prick?"We could argue over the semantics, but if you want to argue that you were merely asking a question and didn't call the guy a prick I'll leave others to decide who's being slightly disingenuous; at least stand by your accusation if you believe it to be true.
Yes, we probably do agree on most things when it comes to Ebay and feedback, but I do think that it is perfectly acceptable for someone to want to leave negative feedback to someone who deserves it without being unfairly penalised themselves.
I left negative feedback for the first time ever a few weeks ago to a CD retailer after waiting two months for delivery of a CD they never had in stock, even though they still advertise that CD as being '6 available'.
As it is the retailer sells so many CDs I doubt they'll leave me negative, but I did consider not posting in case my own 100% positive was spoiled.
We'll agree to disagree on this one then, but in future I think we will agree on other issues more times than not.
......... Yep, no point flogging a dead horse!Thank you Chris.
Have a good week.

I don't leave feedback at all anymore unless the seller first leaves feedback for me.I usually ask a seller to post my feedback once or twice, and then, I stop asking. If the seller won't leave feedback for me before I post their feedback, then I won't leave them any feedback at all.
