I've tried other aftermarket leads with all the Naim kit.
I always go back to the supplied power cords.
An old Volex on other non Naim items, however, seems to be a hit and miss.
NANA's new Tibia cord ( North American market only ) actually works with my various phonostages and power supplies ( Art Audio and 47Labs ).
But the system is heavily *Naimed* in that your results may vary.
I still use NBS for Krell digital and Art Audio power amps beating the Tibia by a large margin.

I've read similar reports about the use of the stock power cord from other Naim owners. It would be interesting to know the results of an AC connector upgrade for the stock power cord. My guess is that a Furutech FI-11M(Cu) AC plug and FI-11(Ag) IEC connector combo would be a safe and affordable bet for such a purpose. I've placed the connectors on a number of DIY, aftermarket, and stock power cords, and have not yet found them to take a power cord in an undesirable sonic direction (the combo is quite versatile per application, IME).

    Yes, I've terminated a number of different power cords with same connector and same connector combos. The issue should be viewed in a similar manner as any other cable, IME. For example: A high quality interconnect cable terminated with mundane rca connectors will only perform as good as it's weakest link, so to speak. To place the value of connectors above the cable (and vise versa) is counterproductive, yet, it's been shown in my experience that even a mundane stock power cord's performance can be greatly improved when terminated with high performance AC connectors.

        A tendency to do the opposite is what should be most noted, as folks more often consider connectors to be an afterthought rather than a critical element that's just as important as the cable vs. the other way around.
        I don't know of any forum that would advocate a cheap wire/stellar connector combo (power cord, IC, speaker cable, etc.) as a wise thing to do, other than as an option based on certain limitations such as the cost involved per a very long run of cable, or the ability to (or a want to) modify a device in an optimum manner as being the criteria.
        Thus said, skimping on the cost of connectors involved in a cable project is more often the issue to address, since it's a real pity to terminate a stellar cable with cheap connectors (counterproductive), while it's a very worthy thing (productive) to terminate a cheap cable with stellar connectors if certain factors such as those mentioned prohibit the use of a stellar cable for one's needs.

  I know few folks try to change their stock socket to a standard Naim cord.

  That's good to know.
  However, as any parts/soldering method/material would alter the sound.
  Ultimtately, its worth should be judged by an each listener since a sonic preference ( desireble/undesirable ) is highly personal.
