if you're using the oppo and home theatre soundtracks as your source, then the speakers or the amplifiers are rarely going to be the problem...the problem is going to be bad recordings, bad room acoustics, and bad matching of speakers to room. and unrealistic expectations. for another thing, digital sounds, well, digital, and for those of us who grew up in the analog age, it can frustrating.
whatever you do, don't go and buy speakers with metal tweeters, then you'll be looking for tube amps to fix the glare.
it's a real merrygoround out there.
