I'm running some of Doc's Paraglows with Vaic Monoplate C37's.
Using a Cal CL-20(modified) into the ET sweet whispers attenuators.
Will try and do a C4S parafeed DHT 26 preamp(or something similar)
as soon as I can swing the funds. The Paraglows are wired with twisted pair Kimber AGSC 25 silver in
the signal path. A generic 16 awg solid core silver bus in a hierarchial
star using chassis plate as small signal ground all to a chassis star(Quest's idea)
with Buddha's yin/yang diode between AC ground,as well as the trannie/choke
drains. Changed input to Kimber Ultraplate Chassis RCA and using WBT 0701 posts.
Running Mills non-inductive wirewounds for small signal biasing and grid stop.
Caddock Kool-Tab for 2A3 cathode resistor. Have shoehorned a 150uf Solen in
for my Cathode bypass. Of couse I have done Buddha's snubber circuit and I have bypassed each of
the 100uf CDE's with a .22uf and a .01uf Kimber Kaps. Hoping to
run current regulated DC on the filaments fairly soon and switch to
Vaic meshplates.(Breathlessly waiting for Bill Gaws write-up next
month in enjoythemusic.com).Run them with Talonaudio Khorus loudspeakers (www.talonaudio.com).
Absolutely wonderful. Phenomenal amps out of the box and getting better with these mods.I will not go back. I really liked my Zen 84b's but the Paraglows
are so far beyond it's hard to believe. For the first time in years I'm so happy I don't feel the need to
run out and sell my soul for the latest components or even the
new SACD's(but I certainly want one!). Plus I can fiddle and
tinker with these little beasties and hear every little change. The performance for the dollar is remarkable. I have had friends
and a couple of door-to-door types listen in completely stunned
disbelief at what 3watts of DHT can accomplish.Nice to have our own dedicated site,
James W.
