I'm actually running a JE LABS 300B DIY project I picked up at www.angela.com. This amp did put my previous PP EL-34 to an early retirement. Output tubes are JJ Electronic 300B, drivers are 6SN7GTA (RCA) or 5692 (Sylvania or RCA red bases). To my ears the 5692 from Sylvania gives the best overall results altough the red base and Holy Cole's voice are a perfect match. This SET amp is driving the Ariels mk 2.2 (an excellent DIY design from Lynn Olson of Positive Feedback). Those speakers are efficient enough (93 dB/1W/1m) to go the SET path but they are a pain to build!
The sound is outstanding, those speaker when driven by a SET amp just disappear. Everything is just there in the room. Be aware that this setup is not analytical (i.e. you won't ear the producer scrath his butt in the recording room, which seems to be the delight of some audiophiles...). The soundstage is one of the best I heard. The bass won't wake up the neighbors but goes strong to 40Hz in-room.
