"I understand McIntosh used to do live vs. recorded demos at their workshops, with a sort of A-B comparison, and it was hard to tell whether when the instrumentalist were playing and when they were faking to the recording. I never was able to make it to one. I doubt if your comparison was quite that rigorous. John Dunlavy apparently compared a piano vs. a recording with his speakers. I understand there have been a number of comparisons by others, even with an orchestra."

I never claimed it was indistinguishable, in fact I implied that it was due to the extra room sound that was on the recording.
