If I was a liar (as you say) I would not have admitted that fact in a public forum, don't you think?

My post had two goals : 1. find out whether you experts (Geoff, Clark and yourself) are indeed experts. When you reverse-engineer the chip you automatically have to learn about q-dots. If Nb is an ingredient, standard or not, you should know about that as well and sufficiently to be able to know that my story was a fake.

2. show how easy it is to make up a story that sounds reasonably scientific so that the layman doesn't sniff the foul play.

As for false technical input, what about Geoff's numerous messages as to how the chip works? Is everything he tells us (in form of bits and snippets) absolute truth, without any shade of doubt?

As for "information found that might explain the chip", it's your job to provide that information, my job is to check whether or not it's correct. I did not bother to look further into the niobium issue because it's a hell of a job to do that, given the sheer number of different technical applications of q-devices, and would cost me a lot of time (at work!).
