Re: Laser light

"Of course the coherent light is acting as waves".

Of course it does, laser light is used to demonstrate the wave character of light!

"The detector is not "counting" photons, as you suggest"

Where did I suggest that? I said that the photodiode is detecting particles, not count, and particles it is, not waves! If laser light behaved exlusively as wave, as you are suggesting, you would not be able to use laser for cutting purposes because for cutting you need impulse, that means particles.

"so your statement that we cannot see light as waves is also false"

When you see light it's because of its particle character. When photons make an impact on you retina or on a digicam's CCD, the photon's energy is transmitted, hence a local interaction is happening, which is typical for particles.

"The lab results of the GSIC-30 you refer to indicated certain metals "

Allen's analysis produced Nb, Ni, Cu, Zn, Al. None of these on its own would indicate quantum material. Or was there a further qualitative analysis I'm not aware of?
