Re: Vibrations

Many of my cusotmers (including those at the big audio shows) use vibration isolation for amps as well as "front end" components. I agree doesn't make as much "sense" from intuitive point of view, but amps can be *amazing* once isolated - either solid state or tube type. The only way to fly.

BTW, sesimic noise is continuous; I'm not referring to "sesimic events," as you say, but to *continuous* Earth crust motion, with peaks below 5 Hz. Traffic, subways, wind etc. also produce extremely low freq. noise similar to Earth crust's.

In the case of the TT tonearm, seismic noise (at that freq.) excites the natural freq. of the tonearm and cartridge (circa 10 Hz), very audible when eliminated.
