In fact, I'm trying to find the best way to provide digital source to feed my Benchmark DAC1.I'm interested in Audigy 2 NX for the following reason.
1/ Given that Asyn adaptive USB 2.0 support, it may feed perfect data to Audigy 2 NX (through USB) and let Audigy 2 NX to do the job to convert the data received to SPDIF audio data stream. If that is the case, we probably bypassed all Windows DSP (depending on the driver design). Also, the latency caused by the PC probably won't affect the audio quality as the generation of SPDIF audio data stream is probably done in Audigy 2 NX with shortest signal path. Anybody can confirm?
2/ Audigy 2 NX is not drawing power from USB. So it is isolated from the noisy PC. If we can drive Audigy 2 NX with battery or a good quality power supply, we should be able to achieve clean digital source.
3/ It support DVD-A and 24/96, it can be a good source for me to try high resolution music format at a low cost.
Heard a number of story regarding the bad recording function of Audigy 2 NX. However, if it can help me achieve audiophile quality digital source, I'm satisfied. Would that be better than the modified M-Audio Transit?
