Maybe so, Tony. But, I read an awful lot of half baked, amateurish, or worse, stuff all over the web, even in other popular blogs. Should I run from Archimago to Lavorgna or Darko? Since Archimagois so bad, they must be right? Hey, I read them, too, much as I find fault with their philosophies, opinions, ad banners, etc. I still read it, even so, whether it convinces me it has found the "truth" or not. Much of what I read is pure, unreliable, unsubstantiated garbage, even in this very thread. And, really, Archi tests and reviews nothing at all equipment-wise that I am personally interested in.Archimago may indeed be dead wrong, particulary as it relates to anything with greater than 16-bit resolution, and maybe much more than that. But, the reality is there are even fewer attempts to measure anything at all about computer audio in a public forum than there are even about traditional non-computer audio. It is a madhouse.
My point is who is going to prove him wrong with "properly done" measurements, if his measurements are indeed so faulty? Do you want to step up to the plate? If not you, who else will? Point me to it. I would welcome it.
