RE: Bit depths. I am lacking some understanding.

I have found that when you buy the higher bit depth of a recording it seems to sound better.

I don't know whether it is a "better" dynamic range, or whether they figured that they had better make it sound good rather than overly compressed the way many CD's do ... I really don't know.

But they do tend to sound better - even equalizing volume since I was thinking that 24bit may have higher average sound levels (and actually it was the same in the one sample track I used to do an informal test)
