Thanks for the detailed input. I'm already moving away from the idea. It is indeed overkill for my needs and I've learned that it is not a good solution for the Squeezebox. I also misunderstood the wireless network capabilities. I had the impression that the Infrant was a wireless network server and could stream audio without having a computer on.

I already use 400GB hard drives connected to a Mac Mini. But they are noisy drives (Glyph). I back it up often, pretty much everytime I rip new CDs. If only I could find a dead silent (no fans), large, reliable external hard drive I could just plop the system into my living room.
