Never tried a third order but 2nd order they are OK to 1.2 -- nothing like the EC600 or a 4" large format driver in the midrange.The EA175 is really good when used as a tweeter above 3K first order, A good choice where a large format driver runs into breakup (or just plain rolls off) around there and you want to eliminate the irratation. The EC600 along with the EA175 have an addictive combination of power and delicacy when used together.
