No compression? A couple of watts? Hell TC, I used to run a Dynaco 400 balls out into a pair of Klipsch LaScalas when I listened to the Ramones back in the 70s, clippin' lamps a-flashin'. Now THAT gave a pretty realistic rendition of the Ramones, a band I saw several times back in those days. "I remember you--oo-oo-oo-ooo" chunka,chunka,chunka. Seeing Tommy play changed my entire outlook on drumming.

That's back when I was drummin in a punk power-trio; guitarist used a MusicMan head with a Dual Showman twin JBL bottom and the bassist an Acoustic 370. Pretty loud. I used a Rogers kit or a Gretsch kit.
