To me, again right or wrong, an analog signal is what is produced by a microphone in the presents of sound (changes in air pressure). Simply a varying AC voltage with the positive part of the wave form increasing with the compression wave and the negative part of the wave form decreasing with the rarefaction wave. An "analog system" maintains that signal all the way through to the speakers changing it as little as possible along the way. Not changing it to a whole different type of wave form on purpose like Class D amplifiers do.Tre'
