^^ funny, that is pretty much what I had been thinking about for some time. The "bottomless" horn. However I am concerned about the "leaking" with certain grounds and/or uneven surfaces and the structural integrity of the whole unit. I think I just like big, monolithic straight horns that nobody would really ever consider for non-installed sound systems.
two horns with half the mouth area would probably be easier to move and setup, but they do not have the same impact when it comes to the way the system looks and feels as a whole.
