I have had large bass boxes before I went the OP route and I am not going back.
In my present OB bass system I drive 3 Alpha 15 in parallel each side via electronic crossover and bass eq. The bass is eq`ed 6 db at 30hz so actually I have linear bass responce to below 20 hz.
What I hope to achieve is better bass definition with a system with one 18 inch bass driver each side to cover 20 - 200-300hz vi electronic crossover and eq.Mayby its not possible.
My room is 5x8 meter.
I have searched this forum and the diyaudio.com forum about OB woofers and there is no real concensus about driver specs as far as I can read. Only concensus is that the driver should have low fs, high sensitivity and big X-max. Several seemt to think that qts around 0.5 is preferable others find this not important if you use electronic crossover and eq.
So thats why I ask about advice....
