These are affordable, almost. One of these days I will give them a try.
When one looks at the response of the 4001 you see most of the problems are above 2500 Hz. And that is wht one hears.
I first tried 5K for the crossover point and that is where I had a glimpse of what was possible. Another octave lower and all of a sudden the sound the 4001 is so often discredited with disappeared. Yet the robustness of what it does from 500 to 2500 was there to enjoy.
If it is possible give this a try.
