If an amp, or more particularly a speaker lacks colour, it is likely to be dull, in the same way a colourless(monochrome) photo or picture is likely to be considered dull.My speakers are colourful and I'd hate them not be so. The AHB2 I bought to power them (after years of SETs) proved to be colourless to the extent I describe it as drearily dull.
Any system where there's a reluctance to turn up the volume when listening to fine music has the kiss of death as far as I'm concerned and sadly (despite its many good features and measurements), the AHB2 falls into this category.
PS - I've not tried matching an AHB2 with dull speakers, but it may prove better in that scenario.
