Maybe I'll expound on this a greater length at some point ...Pass X150.5: Excellent transparency; solid and well articulated bass; excellent dynamics; slightly warm through the frequency range. Pleasant to listen to with most records Purifi 1ET400A with Hypex buffer: Superb transparency, detail, great micro-dynamics; solid bass with excellent articulation; "neutral" i.e. natural sound through the range. Less tolerant of 2nd-rate recordings than the Pass. To my ear with the Purifi the sound of high range instruments like violin is the most realistic I've heard, and likewise the sound of cymbals are more life-like than I've heard heretofore -- in case of really good recordings this is noticeable and remarkable.
