I tried an EE minimax at home and was not impressed at all. I even rolled in the NOS tubes that Bill sent. It sounded ok, but nothing great. My TVC using S&B trannies wiped the floor with it. Actually the passive pre sounded more full and robust, like a good tube preamp, than did the tube preamp itself. I thought the EE sounded more like a good SS preamp, but it wasn't the sound that floats my boat.Oz
