The bottom four octaves up to the lower midrange is covered via monopole woofer(s) while the upper six is with a dipolar panel. Fundamentals one way with harmonics another.
I prefer full range dipoles or full range monopoles for consistent sound character. Not a mix. To each his own preference. The "Billions and billions served" hamburger approach doesn't factor into my speaker choices.
Which is what Magnepan is trying to do with the CSS dipolar woofer. And found a clever way to illustrate its value. :)
