Small amounts of DC in the chain of amps can be a problem. Remindes me of a thread in a swedish audio forum. Somebody got a problem with the amplifiers shuting down while watching certain movies. It was clear that the soundtrack had huge amounts of of energy at infrasonic frequencies, almost full level at 4 Hz. This caused a number of receivers/amplifiers to shut down. A person with some large Krells, contacted the factory. It seems that the DC detectors of that 700 W amp reacted on the 4 Hz infrasonic signals! Same thing happend on a number of AV-receivers. This started a long discussion on why having soundtracks with infrasonic signals that we cannot detect?
