I believe the proper term is: "ain't, ain't a word"...:)Gotta agree with you. While Peter intended to be constructive, it came across very much as: "...how dare you play in my sand box..." Sometimes we spend too much time on a forum and forget what it's like to be new to it.
Not that I speak for the forum, but after your first introduction here, I think we should welcome you here and congratulate you on your new speakers. I don't care if you're driving them with a Radio Shack PA amplifier, you're welcome here and any question is a valid one, we should all remember that. It's not our private sand box, it's a public forum and we should welcome new members.
On the suggestions, it really sounds to me like you have some issue with the fuses popping, that just doesn't sound right. You might want to look into it some more.
Overall, if you're coming from a big cone speaker, it's not unusual to feel maggies are quiet or bass-shy at first. So don't jump to the conclusion that it's your amplifier right away. (at least don't go out and buy anything new until you've had a chance to live with the speakers for a little while).
That Carver is rated pretty high, power-wise, and is supposed to be 2-ohm stable, so you shouldn't be blowing fuses. This might be the red herring that points the finger at some issue with the speakers themselves or the amp. However, without more info it's hard to determine what the real problem is. My experience with Carver is that they tend to sound a bit dull, and non-dymanic, but that they have plenty of power, and should be able to drive the MGIII's well (though I have not owned MGIII's or that Carver amp, so I'm not an expert).
I'd recommend that you figure out what's going on with the fuse first, then look at other amps/preamps, etc.
