Using Pro equipment

Depending on where the OP lives, there may be a pro store/outfit that will have his Behringer (or whatever similar amp) available for rental, a perfect way to audition it with his new Maggies. Or find a local or internet based merchant with a liberal return policy.

I've been guilty myself of taking the cheapo route, to get instantaneous results. One doesn’t go hungry cause he can’t afford caviar. :) If Mr. Bullfrogg will also be in need of a subwoofer, to go with his MGIIIs, the Behringer 1500/2500 is very popular sub amp for the DIY sub builder.

He could "suffer" with the Behringer, until he can afford a better amp, than use the 1500 for a sub, or sell it.
