I'm looking for a budget power conditioner for a simple system consists of an integrated amplifier and a CDP. I am considering the audience aR1p or the PS audio Duet. If I were to get the audience, I will only buy one to plug it to my amplifier due to costs reasons. Cheers

I use the PS Audio Soloist and think that it works very well, especially for the price. The downside to it is that you have to install it in your wall which may require outside assistance if you don't have the required tools and knowledge. The PS Audio Duet is currently on sale for $200 at some websites so take that into consideration.
Peace, good beer and barbecue!

Why not get two PS Audio Duets and seperately condition the integrated and the CDP?
Why do I need 2 Duets when 1 Duet has 4 outlets? I can plug 4 equipments to them. I am concerned at the inconsistency of the power cords used from the wall outlet to the conditioner and to the equipment.
While power conditioners keep the nasties in the electrical lines out of your components, they also work the other way 'round. Digital devices (CD/DVD/DAC) generate noise of their own and left unchecked, can send this noise to other components through the AC line. Most power conditioners don't have seperate filters for each outlet. Plugging all of your components into one power conditioner still lets any noise generated by digital circuits get to the other components.
mkuller's recommendation is a good one. I have one conditioner on my CD player and one on my pre. The one on the disc player has the biggest effect.
