In Reply to: RE: Philips E180CC (alleged eq. to 12AT7)--anyone know it? posted by FenderLover on October 10, 2014 at 19:10:57
The E180CC is almost identical to the 7062. I have many Amperex 7062's and they are a very good sounding tube. The E180CC/7062 is much more like a 12AV7 than a 12AY7.
The Philips E180CC is more analytical in my amps than the Amperex 7062 and less to my taste than the 7062 .... but less microphonic.

7062/E180CC: mu = 46, gm = .0064 A/V, rp = 7.2k, Pp = 2W,
Here are a few more variations to the 12A*7/ family to compare:

I prefer the 12AV7 with its low Rp and higher Gm.
