because a war is a war. There is nothing US military enjoys more than killing civilians -preferably a low value ones. For honor and for our beautiful country of course.

Someone once said in War, the goal is to maximize the number of enemy soldiers that die for their country while minimizing your own losses.
History is full of leaders willing to put their subjects through hell by starting a war that they then loose, a grave price imposed on the peeps, look what it took to make Germany and then Japan to say "uncle".
Attacking Israel the way Hamas did, sending video's out of highlights to enrage them was a "suicide by cop" move at best. The sympathy they hoped for after the expected Israeli counter attack was certainly lessened by the video's of what they did.
Although there are protestors they probably never heard any of the details like the microwave baby, things that make the Hamas attack stand out.
Civilized people don't do that stuff on purpose or be proud of it, the people that supported that stuff aren't much better. period, no excuse.
Two great wars were result of British efforts to save their decaying Empire and had nothing to do with "Uncle" except that the "Uncle" got a glimpse of becoming its successor and forced Japan to war. Such an "Uncle". The "prison break" of October 7th saw the military action of Hamas but also all kind of hateful fractions of Jihad which poured through the fence and engaged in killings. "Microwave children" and rape stories are the works of Israeli propaganda and were never proved. I agree that Hamas did not foresee to what degree USA is willing to support the destruction of Gaza and genocide of civilian population and how willingly will supply Israel with military aid without which that country would not be able to support the war effort for two days not to mention a year or two. Hamas also did not foresee complacency of the rest of western world either. Such things were less impactful when the West was the only game in town and could bomb theritory into submission pretty much without consequences. Those days are gone and we should start to face the music soon enough. Objectively, our alliance with Israel is absolutely worthless. It's a liability without any real profit and strategic importance. It is also the case with Ukraine. A worthless alliance without strategic importance and net gain for the "Uncle".

Fwiw, crying uncle is the traditional term that was used when a wrestler gives up ending the match. Extended here to when a country has had enough death and gives up, cry's uncle. While this is how most wars ended, Hamas has not reached that point yet and seems to think things will change for them with more deaths.
Yes pictures, video personal experiences can all be faked, some believe the WW2 Holocaust was fake too and the Jews made all that up too, but that's not my issue. There was enough "residue" left to suggest to anyone looking that something very bad happened and who did it.
Yes your possibly right, it would have been better not to have gotten involved in ww2 even after pearl harbor and let the chips fall where they may.
A lot of people are thinking about that now and what happens next time and is this already next time so why be involved in it at all?.
Sorry for misunderstanding. It's difficult to reason while facing 80 years of hatriot and crimes commited by both sides. There is no solving the issue except "the final solution". See how easy it is to arrive at the idea? To me it is easier to blame sophisticated people over the masses of simple peasants. That's why we blame Germans. Not maybe for the reason they used Jewish community as a scapegoat since every western country did it at one time or another ,but becuase they turned it into modern, mechanized extermination machine with bureaucratic pedantry. That's why I sympathize with Palestinians. Noblesse Oblige and Jewish technocrats and intelligentsia if far away from Noblesse in those matters. At the end this too shall pass.
