24 steps on an attenuator isn't enough? Reading the reviews, it would seem that Burson designed this amp with enough gain to drive the most difficult headphones easily.

There was a review of this amp somewhere on the internet complaining that the attenuator didn't have enough steps and that the volume didn't actually increase right away when the knob was turned. It was later discovered (and noted in a follow-up) that the review unit was broken, and the problem was absent from a repaired unit.
