Very nice. Looks like a standard commercial open frame linear power supply, the design of which has been around for decades.
Does it use a LM723 regulator with a TO-3 pass transistor? The crowbar circuit is probably a Zener diode and SCR which triggers and shorts a fuse.
14-Gauge wire is great but way overkill IMHO since you're drawing such little current over a short distance.
