Single End vill put a lot of stress on power supply. Push-Pull in class A is much more foregiving. Single end will put the power supply capacitors in the signal path. No one wants to hear the power supply singing along with the music.Sound quality is mainly determined by passive components. 5cm of bad cable may destroy the sound of any amplifier.
While quite good out of the box, Edison 60 can with some difficulty be turned into a very good amplifier, possibly better than any commercial product.
Sibilance should not be a problem in a well designed P-P tube amp.
When the components that are responsible for the defects are replaced, the dynamics usually will increase.
