RE: 6n3cE=6L6gc=5881?

I've been very happy with the 6n3cE in two Cary amps, an AES AE-25 and Sli-80. I had some vintage Tung Sol 5881s that I really liked and decided to try the 6n3cE. They worked perfectly and sounded great. They're widely available online from Eastern European dealers but I'd recommend getting from a reputable U.S. dealer who can test and match them. I got mine from Jim McShane and think they're a real bargain.
