For old amps which are tough on 6V6GT tubes, the JJ 6V6S is a tough tube. Not the tone of the NOS -GTY or GTA, but can be placed into those circuit that "like" tougher 6V6GT-type tubes, and survive.The only other JJ, that I've collected and still use are the 1990's era E34L. Boy, these were tough tubes, with very good tone. But, they're geting as hard to find (NOS) as the 1970's Tesla E34L's. The 1990's era seems a lot better QA, tube to tube, than the newer made JJ's.
