Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |
|
I know this topic has been beaten to death, but I am new to the tube world and am confused after searching this forum.I bought the Caying A 88T a couple of weeks back and wish to buy a quad of K-88Ts as back up. Some say that the Winged Cs are very good while other say that they are bad (rolled-off and mushy).
Appreciate if you'll could list out the characteristics of the Winged C, EH and JJ tubes. Which brand is the most reliable?
Also, any idea on which brand does Cayin use? Will I get better sound by changing to Winged C/EH? Does Cayin overdrive the tubes by setting a higher bias or are they easy on tubes?
Thanks for your help on this.
