I have a pair of the KRs. I beleive George Wright did say that they will put out about 5 watts in his amps, as they will adjust automatically. As you know, I don't care for them. Yes, they are clean, and they ahve lots of bass(too much for my room), and they are *dark*, lacking some mid- upper mids. They are detailed and have nice lower mids(compared to chinese). Thats not the problem-I can compensate for most tonal balance changes. They are VERY visual tubes too, with the emphasis on a huge soundstage, and small images. They lack intimacy, and are good if you wish to *watch* the music. IMO, they have a *fatal* flaw, in that there is an edginess/mechanicalness to their sound. They impress at first, but fatigue after a while. They remind me mostly of the Levinson CDP. Doc B says they are best with lower(relatively) efficency speakers, but don't fare as well with high efficency speakers. Personally, I think the KRs are overrated and WAY over priced. I was even disapointed in their looks. They sure don't look like other 2A3s, actually, they look more like GZ37 rectifiers.
Despite all the raves, there is a growing number of folks who do not like the KR 2A3s.
