thesvet's sound brite and brittle, typical "cd " soundIt could any number of things from incompatibility with your particular amp to personal preference. Is everything up to spec in your 70? If none of the caps have been replaced, for example, it might not be operating exactly where its supposed to be and thus be having a nasty interaction with the svets. Or maybe you just don't like them. I tried some JJ's in my Marantz and couldn't even listen to them, yet others recommend them highly. I like the EI 6ca7. Right now I'm using Svets and like them a lot. They're very smooth and well balanced.
Are all 4 tubes holding bias ok?
