When I met some local audiophiles who were also DIY enthusiasts. Got a chance to hear music on some serious front-ends with all kinds of different speakers, some DIY creations, some clones and some retail stuff.
Found out that my speakers were not only "not good" but the importance of a good front end from top to bottom.
Got a taste for very highly resolving systems - hyper-detailed but not harsh, bright or clinical.
From there, I had no choice. Had to get into more serious kits.
Cheers,
Presto
