General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

Solid Core

""I had to look on gaaargle to find what is a 14 awg ; I don't know what gave you the idea of trying that instead of regular speaker cables, but that's an idea. If I can, I'll try and tell you.""

I used to be into headphones, and I made up a bunch of headphone cables using the solid core inductor wire, and the cables sounded so good that I thought I'd make up some interconnects with the solid core (18 awg), and I liked the way the interconnects sounded so much that I thought I'd try the solid core as speaker wires, and I'm extremely pleased with the results. To my ears the solid core is more coherent and doesn't have the time smearing that stranded wire does.
I use Techflex to cover the inductor wire.
