I own the kit 3 and really know what you mean about the highs flying out of the speaker and I find they have a lot of bass information, (there is so much going on down there) it is one of my favorite things about them. Mine go plenty low however, I wonder what you use for wire. I use the AN Lexus bi wire and love it. It is so smooth and has layers of information with beautiful tone.

What is your room size and where are your speaker located? Have you tried the corners?
